Free market

What is a free market?

A free market means that you choose your own electricity supplier. The price of electricity and the types of tariffs are determined and offered to the customer by the supplier. Various suppliers operate on the free market and you are free to choose which one to sign a contract with.

Which customers are on the free market?

All non-residential customers whose premises are connected to the low and medium voltage electricity distribution network.

In North-Eastern Bulgaria, the electricity distribution company is Elektrorazpredelenie Sever AD, and the prices for network services are determined by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) for all customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to go into the free market?

It's not yet. After a certain transition period (not yet defined), all domestic customers must switch to the free market. Temporarily, if you do not choose a merchant, you remain on an officially insured delivery (supplier of last resort).

Will there be a power outage when switching providers?

What prices can I expect on the free market?

Prices are set by the trader and depend on the market situation. They can be fixed (do not change for a certain period) or floating (tied to exchange values).

Can I change my provider at any time?
