54 hydroelectric power plants of the ENERGO-PRO Group
Hydroelectric power plants in the ENERGO-PRO group
Brazil
ENERGO-PRO Brasilia Ltd. was established in August 2023 and its main activities are the identification of suitable hydroelectric assets in the country. At the end of November 2024, the company acquired seven small hydroelectric plants in Brazil from investment funds managed by Brookfield Asset Management. The total installed capacity of these plants reaches 90 MW.
In 2025, the large hydroelectric power plant Baixo Iguaçu was acquired by Copel. The Baixo Iguaçu hydroelectric power plant, located in the state of Paraná, has an installed capacity of 350 MW.
Colombia
ENERGO-PRO Colombia was established in 2019, with headquarters in Medellín, and its main activities are the identification and development of new hydroelectric projects in the country. Colombia is an attractive market with interesting opportunities in the hydroelectric sector. It has the sixth largest potential in this sector in the world, especially in terms of high-voltage power plants.
ENERGO-PRO is currently building its first hydroelectric power plant on the American continent. It is the Chorreritas hydroelectric power station on the San Andrés River, near the town of San Andrés de Quercía.
In January 2025, the Chorreritas project was successfully certified under the Hydroelectric Sustainability Standard.
Spain
ENERGO-PRO expanded its activity in Galicia (Spain) in 2023, when the group completed the acquisition of 100% of the share capital in Xallas Electricidad y Aleaciones S.A.U. (“Xeal”) and Feroe Ventures & Investments S.L.U. (“Faroe”).
Xeal operates ten hydroelectric plants with a total capacity of 167 MW and two ferroalloy plants. Feroe has applied for a concession for a new pump-accumulating power plant with a planned capacity of 400 MW.
Galicia, in the northwest of Spain, is the rainiest region in the country. With annual rainfall of more than 2100 liters per square meter, it offers favorable conditions for the operation of hydroelectric power plants. Thanks to the four dams and the cascade system, it is possible to make perfect use of the potential of the Halas River, optimize revenues and electricity generation according to the needs of the transmission system and offer support services, the need for which grows with a greater share of variable renewable energy sources in the network.
Under the relevant concession agreement, all power plants on the Halas River will remain in operation until at least 2060.
Georgia
ENERGO-PRO Georgia Holding AD owns and manages 15 medium sized hydropower plants with a total capacity of 494 MW.

ENERGO-PRO entered the Turkish market in 2006 as part of its further expansion abroad. Four years later, the company acquired a portfolio of 7 partially built hydropower plants. The company seeks to consolidate its position in the Turkish energy market, where it belongs to the middle operators of hydropower plants in the hydroelectric power sector. ENERGO-PRO already owns and operates 6 hydroelectric power plants in Turkey with a total installed capacity of 470.4 MW and an average annual production of 1202 GWh.
In 2020, the Alpaslan 2 hydroelectric power plant successfully passed the necessary tests and received permission to start operation. The new hydroelectric dam Alpaslan 2 is located on the Murat River in Turkey. The plant has 4 Francis turbines with a total installed capacity of 280 MW. This is the largest Czech investment in the hydroelectric sector since November 1989.
Bulgaria
ENERGO-PRO Bulgaria EAD is the largest private producer of hydroelectric energy in Bulgaria. With a total installed capacity of 166 MW and an average annual electricity production of 428 GWh, it is also the largest private producer of renewable energy in the country.
Bulgaria was the first country in which we started our international expansion. ENERGO-PRO Bulgaria EAD was founded in 2000.
Today, it owns and operates 14 hydroelectric plants. Ten of these hydroelectric power plants are combined into four different cascades — Sandanska Bistritsa cascade, Pirin Bistritsa cascade, Koprinka cascade and Petrohan cascade.
