How the regulated market works

Prices and conditions for electricity supply are determined by a state regulator rather than through free negotiation between suppliers and consumers.
The national regulatory authority is the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC), which exercises control over prices and supplies.
The powers of the EWRC are set out in the Energy Act, and its decisions are public and available to www.dker.bg.
