Albena Joint Stock Company has not submitted an application to enter the free electricity market
The possibility of entering the free market for consumers connected to medium voltage has existed since October 1, 2013. The resort did not take advantage of it
In connection with the statements given today by Albena AD, we would like to make the following clarifications:
As a power distribution company, ENERGO-PRO Grids is responsible for maintaining and rehabilitating the network and ensuring uninterruptible power supply in its licensed territory. In this regard, inspection and prevention of 4 substations and other facilities owned by ENERGO-PRO Grids located on the territory of the resort will be carried out on 15.06.2015 and 16.06.2015. “Albena”.
Once again, we emphasize that the planned inspection and prevention of electricity distribution facilities is aimed at ensuring their sustainable and trouble-free operation during the tourist season, and no interruption of the power supply is foreseen when carrying out the planned activities.
Regarding the allegations that ENERGO-PRO stops Albena AD from entering the free market, we remind you that from October 1, 2013, any consumer connected to medium voltage (such as the Albena resort complex) can enter the free electricity market. To do this, it is necessary to submit an application to the relevant grid company (ESO or electricity distribution company). The mode is notifiable, not permissive. In other words, consumers do not need anyone's permission to enter a free market.
The application for entering the market at freely negotiated prices has been publicly available since 2013 and can be found on the website of ENERGO-PRO Networks at: http://www.energo-pro-grid.bg/bg/uslugi-za-svoboden-pazar. It can be brought to any customer service center of the company.
Since October 1, 2013, no application for free market entry has been submitted to ENERGO-PRO Grids by Albena AD. Thus, the company is one of the rare exceptions of firms connected to medium voltage that have not benefited from the advantages of the free electricity market.
