Elektrodistribuenie Sever AD and ENERGO-PRO Sales AD announced their proposals to the EWRC for the approval of new prices for network services and supply for the price period from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.

In accordance with the regulations and in connection with the expectations that the EWRC will determine a new three-year regulatory period from July 1, 2021 for the electricity distribution companies, Elektrodistribuenie Sever AD will propose to approve new values of the price-forming elements that will form the necessary annual revenues for the implementation of the licensing activity of electricity distribution to consumers of northeastern Bulgaria. In the case of the annual revenues for carrying out the licensed activity thus proposed for validation, the network operator will ensure the provision of a secure and quality service to its customers. The company's proposal will include an investment program in the amount of BGN 40 million for each of the years of the regulatory period, as well as capital and operating expenses. In the event that CEFR approves the company's proposal, the average final price for domestic consumers will increase by 0.45%.

The application for price validation of ENERGO-PRO Sales AD will take into account the effect of the ongoing process of liberalization of the market and will contain reasons regarding the need to recognize the full amount of the allowance for the activity regulated in Art. 10, para. 5 of Ordinance No. 1 of 14.03.2017 on regulation of electricity prices energy. In the event that the CEFR approves the proposals made, the average final price for the household consumers of ENERGO-PRO Sales AD will increase by 1.25%. Additionally, ENERGO-PRO Sales AD will apply for recognition and costs arising from obligations imposed on the company under the Energy Efficiency Act.

The overall increase for domestic consumers in a regulated market under such new price proposals will be 1.7%. The increase was calculated at the current prices of all other regulated market participants, without taking into account price changes that they would have requested from the EBRD for the forthcoming price period.
