The award in the Sustainable (ESG) Project category is for the LIFE project “Safe sky for birds in North-East Bulgaria”

At an official ceremony on February 13, ENERGO-PRO Varna won third place in the Employer branding awards 2025 competition. The annual b2b Media Awards recognize businesses and individuals for innovation in talent management and new successful strategies in human resource development. The award was presented to Plamen Stefanov, Member of the Management Board and Executive Director of ENERGO-PRO Varna.

“For us from ENERGO-PRO, the project under the EU LIFE program is honored “Safe sky for birds in North-East Bulgaria”to be distinguished as a significant contribution to the field of sustainable development. We are proud that a total of 390 motivated employees, through the implementation of diverse activities, are united for the achievement of the goals of the project for the protection of biodiversity among feathered animals”, Mr. Stefanov shared when receiving the award. The project naturally engages colleagues from all companies in the Group in achieving the company's ESG goals. Their participation in it enhances their sense of importance through the fulfillment of environmental and social commitments, as part of their work. At the same time, the implemented measures, in addition to preventing the death of birds from a possible collision with overhead power lines, will limit unplanned power outages, which will increase the security of electricity supply to customers.

The project “Safe sky for birds in North-East Bulgaria”is a joint initiative of ERP North — the electricity distribution company of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group, and Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds— partner of BirdLife International in the country. The aim of the project is to prevent unnatural mortality among 16 species of globally endangered birds caused by electric shock and collision with overhead power lines. Within the framework of the project, which has a implementation period of 5 years, more than 10,000 electrical poles and marked overhead wires with 2,000 diverters will be secured in 28 Natura 2000 project zones and in key corridors between the special protected areas.
