The managers of ENERGO-PRO Varna Angel Angelov and Angela Toneva met with the mayors of Varna, Shumen, Targovishte, Razgrad, Gabrovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa, presenting the progress of the company's investment program for 2019 and the priority projects on the ground. In the current year, the company plans to invest BGN 50 million in investment and repair activities. The funds will be invested in projects for modernization and development of the electricity distribution network. Modern facilities will be built, which will provide the possibility of joining new sites. In 2018, the company invested nearly BGN 48 million in reconstruction and renovation of the network, replacement of electric meter panels and installation of modern commercial metering devices.

During the meetings, cases related to the connection of sites to the distribution network were also discussed. The representatives of the municipalities raised the question of shortening the deadlines for accession. The managers of the electricity company explained that the procedure for joining objects is regulated by law. Some of the timelines of the various stages of the project are set by other institutions, but the leaders of ENERGO-PRO undertook to accelerate it within the powers of the network company and with the assistance of the local authority.

Special attention was also paid to the security and quality of electricity supply in North-Eastern Bulgaria, which is a priority in the work of the network company Elektrodistribuenie North (ERP North). The issue of electricity supply in the cottage areas, which are outside the regulated territory of settlements, is also discussed, which is why the electricity distribution company does not have its own network in these areas.

The overwhelming part of the existing network in the cottage areas was built decades ago by private cooperatives and to date is physically and morally obsolete. The owners of these facilities fail to maintain them in the required technical condition and this causes interference to the ERP North network. Although there is no obligation to maintain foreign facilities, the network company is often engaged in emergency repairs on them in order to ensure the supply of electricity to people living in the cottage areas. The managers of ENERGO-PRO explained that a lasting solution to this issue can be found after the preparation and implementation of regulatory plans in the villa areas. This will allow the grid company to design and build new electricity distribution networks in these areas in stages.

The meeting of the managers of ENERGO-PRO Varna with the mayors of municipalities is part of a series of initiatives of the company for active cooperation with the local government and unification of efforts to implement projects for the benefit of people living in North-East Bulgaria.
