On the threshold of winter and at a time when heating appliances are actively used, ENERGO-PRO offers its customers selected tips for saving electricity in heating. It has been found that 40% of energy losses in households are due to improper or neglected preparation of housing for winter. Here's how to store warmth and comfort in our homes while optimizing our electricity bills:

Inspect the cold areas of your home and take care to ensure the necessary thermal insulation. On the ground floors, floor insulation is recommended, and on the last floors - attic. In many cases, exterior walls cool rooms to a large extent and lead to increased electricity consumption for heating.Provide tight curtains/blinds to limit unnecessary cooling and reduce energy consumption.Find gaps, cable holes in walls and spaces under doors and take measures to seal them, as they could lower the temperature in the room by several degrees.Check the seals of the windows and doors of the premises, and if necessary, install an additional front door and multi-chamber glazing. These measures will prevent the “leakage” of heat.Ventilate briefly with the heating appliances turned off, so as not to overcool the rooms, as happens with the windows left open for a long time.Set the thermostats of the heating appliances to the optimum 20-22 degrees and make sure that they are placed if possible at an average height, not covered, not heated by direct sunlight and not be near a door to an unheated room, so that they read accurately and do not turn on/off unnecessary.Reduce the temperature during night hours and when you are not at home home, so as not to generate unnecessary costs of electricity. Each of us emits heat, therefore, in rooms with more people, and also in rooms where an oven/hob is used, the set temperature of the heater can be reduced by 2-3 degrees. Close the doors to unheated rooms, because cold air cools in seconds and gives a signal to the thermostat to turn on more often.Do not place partitions and curtains in front of heating appliances, so as not to interfere with their efficient operation.Fans and hoods cool the rooms, so turn them off as soon as they have done their job.

The energy company advises not to place heating and cooling agents close to each other, so as not to dampen their action. Pay attention to how the heating appliances in your home work and place them in optimal places for the premises for maximum efficiency and, accordingly, reduce electricity costs.
