ENERGO-PRO shuts off the power supply of the Lung Hospital in Varna
Accumulated debt in the amount of over BGN 77 thousand, a large part of which is in arrears since March 2021, necessitates the suspension of electricity supply to the building of the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Pneumo-Phthisiatric Diseases — Varna. Despite repeated reminder letters, rescheduling proposals and an appeal to all responsible institutions, the electricity debt continues to rise with no payments within the last year, with the oldest outstanding obligations dating back to March 2021.
The final measure with power outage is scheduled for 21 November 2022 and is necessary to limit the accumulation of additional obligations that would cause operational difficulties for the supplier in the ENERGO-PRO group. We remind you that zero category facilities, such as health facilities, should be provided with backup, autonomous and independent power supply.
The Municipality of Varna, the Ministry of Health, as well as all involved state and regulatory institutions were repeatedly informed about the critical situation, but unfortunately no specific commitment was made to resolve the deepening case. Given the unfavorable situation, ENERGO-PRO Sales AD once again insists on urgent action by the local authority to guarantee and resolve the issue with the accumulated liabilities of SBALPFZ-VARNA EOOD.
ENERGO-PRO Sales sincerely hopes that on the part of the management of SBALPFZ-VARNA EOOD, with the active support of all municipal and state institutions, the obligations for electricity will be paid in a short time. The electricity company expresses its readiness to interact, including with various mechanisms for rescheduling the accumulated debt, and hopes that no final action will be taken to preserve the security of the hospital facility.
ENERGO-PRO Sales AD has always shown understanding and tolerance towards socially significant companies, but cannot afford to credit the arrears of unpaid amounts from customers in such a large amount, even for healthcare facilities. The situation in the Energy sector of acute liquidity crisis and volatility of electricity prices presents the company with the challenge of securing payments to the participants in the energy chain responsible for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity. The maintenance of high indebtedness and the presence of uncollected amounts for the services provided by us put the company's activity in serious liquid danger. In this regard, in order to limit the accumulation of additional debt and to preserve the stability of the energy system, it is necessary to suspend the supply of electricity until repayment of obligations or the conclusion of an agreement to reschedule them.
