ENERGO-PRO advises how to save electricity
ENERGO-PRO launched an information campaign to save electricity. Through a series of selected tips, the company seeks to help its customers optimize their electricity costs by efficiently using electrical appliances in the home.
According to statistics, the amount of electricity used in the household is distributed as follows: for heating - 31%, cooling - 12%, water heating - 12%, lighting - 11%, computers and other electronics - 9%, other household appliances - 9%, refrigerators and freezers - 8%, others - 8%.
On the threshold of the winter season, the topic of energy-efficient heating in the home is among the most topical. In order to heat a room efficiently, ENERGO-PRO advises:
Heaters should be placed in a suitable place in the room to achieve uniform heat distribution. The power of the appliances should be adapted to the size of the room. At night, the heating appliances should be set to maintain a lower temperature without the rooms being completely cooled. Lowering the room temperature at night (by 5 °C at most) significantly saves energy. It is not advisable to partition heating appliances with furniture, nor to cover them with clothes for drying, because this way you lose up to 20% of energy. In the cold months, do not leave the doors open to rooms that do not need heating. It is good if the appliances have a built-in thermostat to maintain room temperature. Control the heating system according to the outside temperature and use the capabilities of electrical programming appliances to save electricity without compromising your comfort. By slightly reducing the temperature in some of the rooms, you can also save energy. A reduction of 1°C provides up to 6% energy savings. Keep in mind that different rooms need different temperatures. The recommended room temperature is as follows: in the living room - on average about 20°C, in the bedroom 16 - 17°C is enough for a healthy sleep, in the nursery - about 20°C, in the bathroom - 22°C, in the kitchen - 18°C, as heat is also released when cooking.Heat the rooms according to your needs. Set the temperature to 15 °C when you will be away for up to 2 days, and to 12 °C for a longer absence, or set the thermostat valves to the frost protection function. Ventilate regularly, but briefly, with the doors/windows wide open — this will keep the walls warm. Open windows lead to greater energy consumption. A better option is to ventilate more often for about 10 minutes, during which time you turn off the heaters.Windows and doors should be well sealed. For the effective operation of the air conditioner, its location in the room, the mode in which it works and the temperature you wish to maintain matters. Air filters should be checked and cleaned, because dirt hinders the operation of the unit and leads to greater energy consumption. If necessary, consult a specialist.
Monitoring the operation of heating appliances and avoiding excess electricity consumption in the home will lead to a reduction in electricity bills. ENERGO-PRO will continue to introduce its customers to effective ways to optimize their electricity costs.
