How the Bulgarian business community evaluates the effects of the compensation program for high electricity prices is examined byonline survey, organized by the Ministry of Energy and the independent platform for comparing electricity offers elca.bg. All owners and representatives of companies and enterprises are invited to participate in it to share their experience and impressions of the measures implemented by the state to mitigate the economic consequences of the crisis with energy prices. The survey consists of twenty questions and you can access it here.

The purpose ofthe surveyis to measure, analyse and evaluate the benefits of the 18-month compensation programme and how it has helped companies retain their positions, competitive prices and quality.

The drastic increase in electricity prices has led companies to significant difficulties in paying their bills, in some cases — to a significant restriction of activity, suspension of production and a sharp deterioration in the economic situation of economic entities not only in Bulgaria, but throughout Europe. Along with the negative consequences of the SOVID-19 pandemic, this created risks not only for individual enterprises and industries, but also for the economy as a whole. In order to mitigate the impact of price volatility in the energy market, a compensation programme was developed and implemented for non-domestic end-users, as well as transmission and distribution network operators. As the new autumn-winter season approaches, consideration of the benefits of the measures implemented deserves attention in view of the possibility of proposing better and more targeted solutions where necessary.

The survey is carried out by the independent expert team of elca.bg, which is an online service for comparing current offers of electricity traders and concluding contracts for the supply of electricity for businesses. The study will continue throughout the month of July and will be available to all companies and enterprises in Bulgaria who, as consumers of the free electricity market, have the right to be informed and participate in the processes that affect them.
