5% higher electricity consumption in North-East Bulgaria during the New Year holidays reports ENERGO-PRO

More than 5% more electricity was consumed by ENERGO-PRO customers during the period 31 December - 2 January compared to the same days a year earlier. This is shown by the data of the company, which supplies electricity to 1.1 million consumers in the districts of Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Ruse, Silistra, Dobrich, Razgrad, Targovishte and Shumen. 61 thousand megawatt hours of electricity was the consumption in Northeastern Bulgaria during the three weekends. A year ago, for the same period, customers consumed 58 thousand megawatt hours. The greatest increase in consumption was observed in Veliko Tarnovo district, and in Razgrad district the consumption during the New Year holidays 2016-2017 was identical to that in the same days of 2015-2016.

64 emergency teams of ENERGO-PRO Grids were in full readiness to react in a timely manner in case of damage to electrical equipment during the holidays. The accountants of the electricity distribution company also worked to account for the electricity consumed on the usual schedule.
