62% of household customers (households) in North-East Bulgaria consumed electricity worth up to BGN 36.57 in December, which is the average bill for the month. This was explained by Maria Dimitrova, Director of Customer Service of ENERGO-PRO, at a meeting with journalists in Veliko Tarnovo today, 29 January 2014. The average bill for December 2013 was 6.4% lower than the average bill for the same month of 2012. The lower consumption is mainly due to the higher average daily temperatures of around 2°C in December 2013 and the lower cost of electricity.

Ms. Dimitrova informed the journalists about the levels of household consumption in the territory served by ENERGO-PRO, which includes the districts of Varna, Dobrich, Shumen, Targovishte, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Ruse, Razgrad and Silistra. According to her, 29.5% of household customers in December consumed electricity worth between BGN 36.57 and BGN 100, and the remaining 8.5% have electricity bills over BGN 100.

In the last few days, with the sharp drop in temperatures, electricity consumption in Northeastern Bulgaria has increased significantly. For the period 25 — 27 January ENERGO-PRO registered an average growth of 22.53% in electricity consumption compared to the same period last week (18 — 20 January). Specifically for Veliko Tarnovo district, the average increase in electricity consumption was 21.32%. For the majority of customers, the increased consumption will be reflected in their bills for the month of February, which are paid in March.

“We have repeatedly stated that ENERGO-PRO works completely transparently. We strive to be as useful as possible to our customers, using various ways to inform them not only about the new moments in pricing and the formation of electricity bills, but also about the factors that affect the volume of their consumption. “, said the Director Customer Service of ENERGO-PRO.
