The emergency teams of ENERGO-PRO Grids restored the electricity supply of dozens of settlements in North-East Bulgaria over the weekend

Work continues today on the elimination of new breakdowns

Complicated weather conditions on October 25th and 26th caused numerous damage to the power distribution network of ENERGO-PRO Grids in North-Eastern Bulgaria. The most common accidents are torn wires and broken insulators from fallen branches and trees, broken poles, etc. Over the weekend, the company's teams restored the power supply to dozens of settlements in the regions of Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Shumen, Razgrad, Targovishte, Ruse, Silistra and Varna, eliminating numerous damage to power grid facilities due to strong wind, snowdrifts and icing.

Today, the situation continues to change dynamically - all the time teams eliminate breakdowns, but at the same time the winter element provokes new breakdowns that leave new areas without electricity. As of 12:00 noon, there are about 30 thousand customers of the company without electricity in 297 settlements. The most complicated is the situation in the municipalities of Gabrovo and Sevlievo, where a state of emergency was declared and where severe weather conditions continue to cause new accidents. On the territory of Gabrovo region there are 162 settlements without electricity. The situation is still complicated in the districts of Veliko Tarnovo, where 66 settlements are without electricity, in Razgrad - 26, Shumen - 20 and Targovishte - 21, Ruse -2 villages.

More than 420 electricians of ENERGO-PRO Grids equipped with the necessary equipment and specialized equipment have been mobilized to eliminate the consequences of the winter element. The company redirected additional teams and specialized equipment from the less affected areas to the most critical areas.

The most common challenges teams face are impassable roads, fallen branches, snowdrifts and glaciations. Despite the harsh conditions, they strive by the end of the day to restore electricity to all settlements. In some places, specialists reach the emergency facilities with the assistance of the municipalities. The company maintains constant contact with the regional structures of “Fire Safety and Protection of the Population” in the affected areas.
