ERP North invests nearly BGN 18 million in the electricity distribution network of Varna region

In 2021 ERP North implemented investment projects for rehabilitation and renovation of electricity distribution facilities in Varna region in the amount of nearly BGN 18 million. More significant completed projects with the construction of a new network were aerial cable lines in the areas of Borovets South, Trakata, Rakitnika, Vinitsa, Zvezditsa, Priboy, Manastirski Rid, Byala Chesma, Dabravata. These facilities include 28,000 meters of twisted insulated wire, 1,350 meters of underground power cables, nearly 600 poles, as well as all adjacent power distribution elements. In the last two years, with the covid pandemic, the consumption of electricity in the cottage areas and areas near the city has increased. This necessitated the planning of extraordinary investments by ERP North, which despite encountered difficulties in implementation, such as unconducted property regulation and lack of infrastructure, seeks to provide a quality service for the ever-increasing number of clients in these areas. On the existing network in the region, significant rehabilitation was made of the overhead power lines supplying a number of settlements in the municipality of Avren — Priseltsi, Zdravets, Benkovski, Dobri dol, Konstantinovo, Chereshova gradina, Oreshak, Kamenar. The inspection and prevention activities of the facilities throughout the territory operated by ERP North are also carried out regularly.

Emphasis in the investment program of the electricity distribution company in 2022 will continue to be the construction of a new network in suburban areas. In addition to completing the activities in some of these areas, such as Trakata, Rakitnika, Borovets South, Vinitsa, new facilities will also be built in the areas of Alain Mak, Zelenika, Menteche, St. Nicola, Akchelar. In parallel with this, rehabilitation of the existing network will be carried out in settlements close to Varna - Kantardzhievo, Kumanovo, Kichevo, Osenovo, Zvezditsa, Bolyartsi, Kitka, Krusha. The amount of planned investments this year in the district amounts to a new 13 million leva. In view of the increased growth of construction, the work on connecting newly built facilities to the electricity distribution network remains a priority.
