DB Cargo Bulgaria received green energy certificate from ENERGO-PRO Energy Services
More and more companies are buying with care for the environment 100% electricity from renewable sources for their needs. At the end of January, ENERGO-PRO Energy Services awarded a certificate for 100% green energy to DB Cargo Bulgaria, owned by Deutsche Bahn AG. The company offers services in the field of railway transport.
“Rail freight is environmentally friendly because it runs on electricity, unlike other modes of transport. Our decision to use fully green energy for our freight activities is another step towards achieving sustainable development of Bulgarian and European rail transport” — said engineer Lyubomir Garchev — Executive Director of DB Cargo Bulgaria.
DB Cargo Bulgaria strives to reduce carbon emissions and reduce noise in its transport operations. At the same time, the company is actively working to return the majority of used materials and resources back into the use cycle, thereby increasing the level of recycling.
“ENERGO-PRO supports the environmentally friendly production of electricity and its use in all areas of business. The company is actively working to achieve a certain share of energy from renewable sources in the total generation of electricity in order to improve the climate and limit harmful emissions into the atmosphere.” — said Boyan Karshakov, Manager of ENERGO-PRO Energy Services at the presentation of the certificate.
Green energy certificates are based on existing Guarantees of Origin issued by the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development, which are owned by ENERGO-PRO Energy Services. They have a unique number, a certain period of validity and are kept in a public register, which is freely accessible and located on the company's website.
