Kindergarten in Shumen implements the project “Green Activity” with the support of ENERGO-PRO

Kindergarten “Sun”, located at the foot of the natural park “Shumensko Plateau”, won funding under the program “ENERGO-PRO for society”. In search of training with modern approaches and strategies, teachers from the kindergarten applied with their idea and were approved. Thanks to the support received from ENERGO-PRO, a “Green Activity Room” was built in the yard of the kindergarten in order to provide a calm, safe and developing environment in which children can carry out practical activities in nature, experiment, ask questions and find answers, put care, diligence and love into something of their own that they can touch, show and experience. at. By setting aside a corner in the yard to take away the learning process, outdoor games and learning are successfully combined, while supporting environmental education for the balance between living in nature and living indoors. The formation of knowledge and skills in children occurs simultaneously with the construction of an attitude towards nature and the environment.

Part of the activities of the project include the development of the Botanical Atelier, the library “The Miraculous Gifts of Nature”, the creation of the “Herbalist” club, the holding of a New Year's Week with an exhibition of herbs, lessons and quizzes with the “Know the Plant” set, construction of a greenhouse and a snail farm, activities entitled “With cheerful games — healthy, cheerful and good” and much more. Planned outdoor activities for children not only make learning more interesting, but also help create healthy living habits. At the same time, it is achieved to attract public attention to build civic self-awareness for nature conservation.

Applications for funding under the “ENERGO-PRO for Society” initiative can be submitted in the areas of “Child Development”, “Environmental Protection”, “Building Environmental Values”, “Sustainable Urban Development”, “Energy Efficiency”, “Safe Use of Electrical Appliances and Energy Facilities”. Priority is given to projects that have a long-term effect and offer new practices to change public attitudes.
