ENERGO-PRO team recovered a torn cable that left part of Glavinitsa without electricity
A severed cable left part of Glavinitsa without power. When carrying out excavation work to uproot a log, workers cut a medium-voltage cable owned by ENERGO-PRO Grids, which supplies power to one of the substations in the city.
Due to the damage to the facility, 85 customers of the company were left without power. During the time that an ENERGO-PRO emergency team repaired the damaged cable, customers were supplied with electricity thanks to a backup low-voltage overhead line. The emergency team placed 6 cable sleeves on the broken cable and the normal power supply to the subscribers was restored.
This breakdown is a good example of the need to invest in the network and create backup connections between substations. If there was no backup line built in this case, customers powered by the torn underground cable would have been without power for the time it took to restore it. However, during the last two price periods, the EBRD imposed serious financial restrictions on the investment activity of the electricity distribution companies.
