ENERGO-PRO Networks teams prepared part of the electrical facilities in the Elena Balkan for the winter

Teams of ENERGO-PRO Grids from the city of Elena carried out repair works on the twenty kilovolt overhead power line “Buynovtsi”. The company's specialists replaced steel lattice pillars from the medium-voltage overhead network. Thus, they prepared part of the electricity distribution network in the Elena Balkans for operation in the winter.

The reconstruction of the facility is foreseen in the repair program of the company for 2015 and aims to provide stable electricity supply in an area with potential for development as a tourist destination. The picturesque nature in the Elena Balkans, the abundance of mineral springs, preserved traditions and customs create conditions for mountain, hiking, ecological, fishing and balneological tourism. Near the village of Miykovtsi and Mount Chumerna there are ski slopes and ski facilities that create opportunities for winter sports.

The terrain along which the air power line “Buynovtsi” passes is mountainous and in some places difficult to pass all year round. Replacing the pillars contributes to the reliable and uninterrupted operation of the facility. This power line supplies 31 substations with 1083 customers in the southeastern part of the Elena Balkans. These are both households and guest houses, hotels, catering and entertainment establishments.

The stability of the power supply is of paramount importance for the successful business of local entrepreneurs. The repair of the air power line “Buinovtsi” is part of the preparation of the power distribution network of ENERGO-PRO for operation in the upcoming winter season.
