Teams of ERP North eliminated a serious accident in hard-to-reach terrain in the area of the Silistra village of Sreburna

Last week, after a report was submitted by the Network Management Center to ERP North about a fault on the Srebrna outlet near the village of the same name in Silistren, a company duty team visited the problem section and made operational switches to locate the accident. During the investigation, a second group of electricians from the electricity distribution company joined their colleagues and began a tour through the hard-to-reach terrain in adverse weather conditions — heavy rain and strong wind. The accident was localized within less than an hour, despite the difficult circumstances in which the employees of ERP North had to perform their official duties. It turns out that the cause of the failure was a tree that fell on the power line, which caused a breakage of the insulator on VEL Srebrna. The company's teams return to their vehicle to stock up on personal protective equipment and pick up a portable ladder to fix the damage. Attempts were made to help them with a passable car, but due to the steep slope and muddy terrain, they were unsuccessful. The two teams from ERP North decided to hand transport the portable ladder, which proved to be a huge challenge given the harsh conditions. They have to walk about 700 meters in one direction on heavily sloping and muddy terrain. In the end, they successfully reach the place of failure, after which one of the electricians manages to climb the slippery and wet steps of the ladder, secure himself and remove the damaged insulator.

Keeping the electricity distribution network in good working order is a difficult task and a serious challenge for all teams of electricians of ERP North. Accidents on power lines are eliminated regardless of weather conditions — heavy rains, heavy snowfall, gusts and storms, and always in the name of restoring the electricity supply to all customers of the company. 60 duty teams of the company are constantly ready to eliminate accidents occurring on the 43,000 km long power distribution network in North-Eastern Bulgaria, no matter what time — at night or on holidays and weekends. The main priority for each of them is precisely the guarantee of uninterrupted power supply for each customer connected to the ERP North network.
