ENERGO-PRO Grids teams repair damage due to wet snow in North-East Bulgaria
Heavy snowfall, accompanied by strong wind and icing, caused numerous damage to the electricity distribution network in Northeastern Bulgaria last night. Broken tree branches, fallen trees and icing from the heavy wet snow broke numerous wires and broke insulators. There are also broken poles in separate places, including on medium-voltage lines. As of 11:00am today, 458 settlements in the regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Ruse, Shumen, Gabrovo, Razgrad, Silistra and Dobrich are without electricity.
The emergency teams of ENERGO-PRO Grids are mobilized to eliminate the damage. The teams are equipped with specialized equipment and are fully equipped to work in a complicated winter environment. They are working to fix the damage to all the facilities they have access to. One of the biggest challenges for them is to reach the accident sites, due to the inconveniences that make certain areas inaccessible even for specialized equipment.
The management of ENERGO-PRO Networks is in constant contact with the district and municipal headquarters for disaster protection to synchronize actions and deal with the complicated situation as quickly as possible.
The company is ready, if necessary, to mobilize an additional resource of qualified personnel and equipment to be directed to the areas with the highest number of failures.
