ENERGO-PRO is repairing numerous damage to the electricity distribution network as a result of the storm that broke out last night in Northeastern Bulgaria and the tidal waves and floods in Varna, Dobrich and Veliko Tarnovo.

By order of the state authorities, the power supply in the Asparuhovo district of Varna and a large part of the city of Dobrich was turned off last night in order to ensure the safety of people. During the storm, ENERGO-PRO preventively shut down individual power lines and facilities to avoid accidents and life-threatening situations. Some of these facilities are not currently under stress due to the high level of water in the flooded facilities.

From the initial inspection in the Asparuhovo district, it is evident that a substation practically does not exist — it was carried away by the incoming water, silt and debris. Another is completely inaccessible, as it is buried by the silt. ENERGO-PRO teams are working on replacing the old substation with a mobile facility, which will temporarily provide power to subscribers in the neighborhood. More than 30 ENERGO-PRO employees are concentrated on the territory of Asparuhovo district, whose task is to assess the condition of the power lines in the area and put under voltage the facilities that do not pose a danger given the damage caused by the elements. The teams have enough equipment of the company started work last night and are currently actively eliminating accidents at the facilities. The electricity supply in the neighborhood will be restored in stages today during the day, after the company's teams complete the inspections and repairs of each of the power lines and ensure their safe operation.

The power supply in the Galata area and part of the villa area around Asparuhovo has already been restored.

On the territory of Varna region there are serious defeats in the municipality of Beloslav, where 4 medium voltage poles fell and local accidents on the low voltage network fell. The village of Dolishte is also without electricity.

In the city of Dobrich there are a large number of flooded substations and damage to the low-voltage network. On the territory of the district there are also 6 villages without electricity.

Due to damage to power lines without power supply, there are three villages in Novi Pazar municipality, Shumen district.

There are also two flooded substations on the territory of Veliko Tarnovo region — one is in the area of the Construction Technical College in the city, the other — in the village of Parvomaitsi.

There is also a flooded substation in the city of Razgrad.

Throughout the night, ENERGO-PRO teams conduct surveys and technical inspection of the main power facilities. All accidents in the places to which there is access are eliminated. The company has the necessary equipment and is ready, if necessary, to engage and redirect additional teams from less affected areas.

“We offer our condolences to the injured families. We are doing everything we can to deal with this unprecedented situation. I assure our customers, who are currently without power, that we work wherever technically possible. I would like to remind that facilities that are flooded cannot be turned on under voltage until they are drained to a safe level. Our teams work wherever possible and eliminate accidents and in flooded facilities where the voltage is off and are safe to operate “said Stefan Abadzhiev, Manager of ENERGO-PRO.
