ENERGO-PRO teams restored power supply to 21,000 customers in 177 settlements in North-East Bulgaria in the last 24 hours
The technical teams of the power distribution company ENERGO-PRO Grids continue to gradually restore the electricity supply to settlements in the mountainous areas. The winter weather caused hundreds of power grid failures. After round-the-clock work, the teams were able to eliminate the majority of the accidents and continue to work on the secondary damage that occurred as a result of the severe weather conditions. In the last 24 hours alone, the power supply of 21,000 customers in 177 settlements was restored.
Today, at 14:00pm, there are 9 thousand customers without electricity in 122 villages in the districts of Gabrovo (75), Veliko Tarnovo (40), Shumen (4) and Razgrad (3). The most complicated is the situation in the distressed municipalities of Gabrovo and Sevlievo.
Yesterday evening, the manager of ENERGO-PRO Stefan Abadzhiev participated in a meeting of the crisis headquarters in the municipality of Gabrovo, where the company mobilized all available resources of specialists and equipment in the most severely affected places. “We have not stopped working. We have sent additional teams of experienced specialists, equipped with equipment and machinery. As a matter of priority, we restore power lines that supply stations of mobile operators, pumping stations of water supply, hospitals and social institutions. For us at the moment, the most important thing is to restore electricity to people as quickly as possible, and then we will continue to repair the damage to our facilities. “, commented Mr. Abadzhiev.
Later in the night, the manager of the power company also met with the mayor of Sevlievo Ivan Ivanov, where the situation is no less critical and the disaster situation continues to be in force. “In crisis situations, it is extremely important that institutions and companies that provide utilities work in a coordinated manner. Here, in the harsh winter conditions, our teams make a huge effort. We exchange information with municipalities which roads should be cleaned as a priority in order to get to the failed facilities from the network. Thanks to our interaction, we are able to reach the most difficult to reach areas in order to restore electricity in small settlements”, added the manager of ENERGO-PRO.
Today, Mr. Abadzhiev met again with the mayor of Sevlievo, and later with mayors, deputy mayors and residents of the Sevlievo villages of Kravenik, Stokite, Selishte and Batoshevo. The power line that feeds the four mountain villages has been torn in hard-to-reach sections, making it particularly difficult to recover. Complicated continues to be the situation in Veliko Tarnovo district and in the area of Hitrino municipality, Shumen district, where the power lines are heavily iced. ENERGO-PRO teams make every effort during the day to restore electricity to all settlements.
