In the period before the spring migration of birds, the teams of Elektrodistribuenie North (part of the ENERGO-PRO group) installed platforms for stork nests on electricity distribution facilities in the municipalities of Popovo, Targovishte, Omurtag and Opaka in the Targovishte region, in the municipality of Vetovo in the region of Ruse, in the municipalities of Dolni Chiflik and Avrek Varna, Varna region and in Dobrich municipality, Dobrich region.

Every year from October to March Elektrodistribuenie Sever implements a project for the installation of platforms for stork nests. The energy company's commitment is to secure the overhead power grid ahead of the spring migration of birds. The poles are a preferred place for storks to build nests, therefore, by installing the platforms, the birds are protected from becoming stressed and the nests are prevented from igniting. The project is coordinated with the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds and aims to ensure a peaceful stay and nesting of feathered animals during the warm months of the year, as well as to provide uninterrupted power supply to customers in nearby settlements.

Via Pontica, the second largest European bird migration route passes through the territory of Elektrodistribuenie Sever, in particular along the Black Sea coast. This route to Africa and back is used twice a year by nearly 80% of the population of white storks on our continent. The installation of platforms by teams of the power distribution company is carried out until the spring flight of birds, then resumes after their autumn migration to the south.
