The electricity supply of Shumen water supply facilities has been restored

The interruption was made at the request of a company outside the ENERGO-PRO group

A few minutes ago, ERP North restored the electricity supply to the pumping stations of the Shumen Water Supply System. The Electricity Distribution Company has no relation to the dispute between Plumbing - Shumen and the electricity supplier “Kumer” Ltd. ERP North, as a licensed network provider for the territory, has a legal obligation to fulfill the request of a provider for interruption due to non-payment pursuant to Art. 123, para. 5 and cannot cancel the interruption if there is no explicit request for withdrawal from “Kumer” Ltd. Such a request came in the late afternoon and is valid only for today, with the supply of power started. For the time being, the schedule for the interruption of the objects from 10:00am on 22.05.2023 remains valid, and its termination is possible if a new request is received from the previous supplier of Shumen Plumbing, “Kumer” Ltd.

On May 17, 2023, a phased shutdown of the electricity supply to Shumen water supply facilities began, which is in response to the request of the current electricity supplier of the water supply company “Kumer” Ltd. The outage affects pumping stations of the Shumen water supply system. The final measure was taken by the electricity supplier in order to limit the huge debt accumulated so far for consumed electricity. Disruption of electricity supply to the pumping stations of Shumen water supply according to a previously prepared schedule occurs in the following settlements: Shumen — part of the city, mainly the higher parts, approximately one third of the settlement; Veliki Preslav — almost the entire city; Novi Pazar — part of the city, mainly the higher parts, approximately one third of the settlement; part of the settlements on the territory of the following municipalities — the Municipality of Hitrino, the Municipality of Kaolinovo and the Municipality of Venets.

About the unfavorable situation created for the residents of the affected settlements and in an attempt to help solve the problem, ERP North repeatedly alerted the responsible institutions Bulgarian Water Holding, MRRB, Ministry of Energy, EWRD, DANS, Shumen Regional Administration, Shumen Municipality, RD Fire Safety and Protection of the Population with copy to Shumen Plumbing. Effective action is expected from the responsible addressed institutions and companies.
