The management of ENERGO-PRO held a meeting with the Regional Governor of Ruse Dragomir Draganov, at which the investments made so far in the electricity distribution network were presented and the progress of the joint work with the regional forestry on marking of dangerous trees was discussed. By the end of 2025, investments in Ruse region will exceed 6 200 000 BGN. The event is part of the regular meetings with the regional governors of Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Targovishte, Shumen, Varna, Dobrich, Silistra and Razgrad, initiated in connection with a preventive campaign for construction and maintenance of air power lines in Northeastern Bulgaria.

ENERGO-PRO presented the investments made so far and planned for preventive maintenance of the facilities, as well as measures to ensure reliable power supply in adverse weather conditions. The electricity company reported progress in clearing the props within the easement areas and removing vegetation to prevent accidents. One of the most modern machines for cleaning sieves is now available. Sufficient resources of people and specialized equipment are also provided in order to be able to carry out searches of the maximum number of power lines from the electricity distribution network. The Regional Forest Inspectorate in Ruse region undertook to send the protocols for marked trees in the area.

For their successful implementation, we rely on the support of local authorities and regional forest farms. After the already made field inspections, vegetation was found outside the easement zones, as well as conflict zones on overhead power lines passing through forest areas. This poses a risk to the security of the power supply of customers in the affected areas and creates a risk of fires when trees and branches come into contact with overhead lines. So far, more than 36,000 trees have been marked on the license territory of Elektrodistribuenie Sever, representing a danger to the non-emergency operation of the electricity system.

Within the framework of the meeting, the possibilities for further acceleration of activities in areas with higher risk areas, as well as improving communication between the parties in the event of emergency situations, were also discussed. The need for a relaxed regime for the construction of farmsteads in forested areas was also commented. An adjustment is needed in the legislation regarding easement zones around high forest vegetation. In such cases, for the safe operation of the network, the extension of the servitude dawns is mandatory in order to preserve the integrity and ensure the safe operation of the facilities.

In conclusion, the participants confirmed their commitment to joint work and constant control over the implementation of the measures, so that all settlements meet the upcoming autumn-winter season with maximum readiness.

Meetings with the local authorities in the regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Targovishte, Shumen, Varna, Dobrich, Silistra and Razgrad are to be held.
