ENERGO-PRO Energy Services partners for inclusion in RESTORE program for storage of electricity through batteries

ENERGO-PRO offers an active partnership to its customers under the procedure under the “RESTORE” program for battery projects. The program provides financing of up to 50% of the cost of batteries, and the grant may not exceed BGN 371 607 excluding VAT for 1 MWh of energy capacity. The funds allocated under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan amount to nearly BGN 1.2 billion. The grant is intended for batteries with/above 10MW (AC power) and 20MWh (capacity) for renewable energy storage.

Applicants for the “RESTORE” program are required to submit the following documents:

· Valid opinion, preliminary or final accession agreement with ESO

· Conceptual/technical design

· Bank guarantee for 3% of the grant.

It is envisaged that expenditure incurred after the date of publication for public consultation of the procedure — 25 June 2024 — will be eligible for funding under the procedure. The deadline for applications is November 21, 2024. A mandatory condition is that the applicant must be a trader within the meaning of the Commercial Law and be registered under the procedure of the Commercial Register and the Register of ULNS or an equivalent person registered in a Member State of the European Economic Area. Applications will not be accepted from companies, in proceedings under or declared bankrupt, as well as those in liquidation proceedings. Investments under the procedure must be completed and put into operation by March 2026.

Industrial-scale energy storage systems for the management of electricity supply or for the provision of grid services meet the increasing needs for system flexibility, stability and predictability for power plants using renewable energy sources. The electricity used by the plants and machines is controlled so that the energy needs at peak load are met directly by the battery storage system and not by the power grid. This mechanism relieves the power system by balancing the processes of generation and consumption, the peaks of which are at different times.
