ENERGO-PRO invests 8.1 million in the electricity distribution network in Veliko Tarnovo region
In 2018, the company increased investments in the area by 27%
Electricity Distribution North, part of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group, invested BGN 8.1 million in renovation and development of the electricity distribution network in Veliko Tarnovo district in 2018. The topic of the development of the network as a prerequisite for attracting new investments in the area was the leading meeting between the CEO of ENERGO-PRO Varna Momchil Andreev and the Regional Governor of Veliko Tarnovo Prof. Dr. Lyubomira Popova.
During the meeting, the priorities of the ENERGO-PRO investment program in Veliko Tarnovo region were discussed and attention was paid to energy infrastructure objects that Elektrodistribuenie North is to build or renovate in 2018. The company plans a 27% increase in investment in the area this year. The planned BGN 8.1 million will be invested in renovation of key medium-voltage power lines, replacement of cables and reconstruction of sections of the low-voltage network, export of electricity meter panels and installation of new electricity meters.
For the last 5 years, Elektrodistribuenie North has invested over BGN 29 million in the electricity distribution network in Veliko Tarnovo region. In 2017 alone, the company invested BGN 6.4 million in the renovation of substations, substations and medium-voltage power lines, in the reconstruction of sections of the low-voltage network, in the connection of new sites, replacement of electricity meter panels and electricity meters. The measures taken provide more reliable electricity supply to households and businesses in the city and create conditions for new customers to join the electricity distribution network.
At the beginning of 2018, ENERGO-PRO opened a new Customer Service Center (CSC) in Veliko Tarnovo. It is located in the central part of the city, with a significantly larger area than the old one, and is more accessible and convenient for visitors. There are 6 multifunctional counters, at each of which customers can request the services of the companies of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group and make payments.
During the meeting, the schedule of offices organized by ENERGO-PRO for the convenience of customers in small settlements where there are no customer centers was discussed. In April and June 2018, ENERGO-PRO mobile teams will visit 17 settlements, where they will consult and accept customer applications. Thus, residents of these places can take advantage of the company's services without traveling to the nearest Customer Service Center. In 2017, exported offices were organized in 6 villages in Veliko Tarnovo region.
Issues related to countering electricity theft were discussed. The good interaction between Elektrodistribuenie Sever and the law enforcement agencies increased the disclosure of these acts. In the last year alone, the number of reports of illegal electricity consumption has increased by more than 50%. For the five-year period from 2013 to 2017, 2028 cases of illegal consumption were detected in Veliko Tarnovo district, of which 186 offenders had two or more violations. In the period 2015-2017, 42 people were convicted on the territory of Veliko Tarnovo region, of which 2 were with effective sentences, 10 were on probation, and 30 were punished with probation.
The meeting of the Chief Executive Officer with the Regional Governor of Veliko Tarnovo is part of a series of initiatives of ENERGO-PRO Varna for active cooperation with the local government and pooling efforts to implement projects for the benefit of people living in North-East Bulgaria.
