ENERGO-PRO Networks carried out prevention of electrical equipment in the resort complex “Albena”
As the power distribution company announced in advance, the specialists worked without interruption of the power supply
On June 15 and 16, 2015, ENERGO-PRO Networks specialists inspected and inspected several electrical facilities owned by the company in the resort complex “Albena” in order to ensure their safe operation during the active tourist season.
The prevention was necessary after in early May a medium-voltage cable broke down in the resort “Albena” and the teams of ENERGO-PRO Networks were not allowed to eliminate the accident by the owner of the complex. ENERGO-PRO Networks was given the opportunity to repair the damaged cable only 15 days later, after the intervention of the Ministry of Energy.
The accident that occurred in May reinforced the concerns of ENERGO-PRO Grids that the practice of “Albena” AD in recent months to create obstacles to inspections and normal prevention of distribution facilities, could lead to an emergency on the electrical network, which could harm the tourist season. As a publicly responsible company, ENERGO-PRO Grids immediately proceeded to inspections and inspections of the electricity distribution facilities in the resort, after an inspection by the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (EWRC) and intervention of the Ministry of Energy made this possible.
The prevention on 15 and 16 June 2015 was carried out with special attention to the peace and comfort of tourists vacationing in the complex, and measures were taken to prevent any interference with the power supply. For this purpose, a specialized group for working under voltage of ENERGO-PRO Networks carried out the maintenance of the facilities without disturbing their normal operation.
As ENERGO-PRO assured the institutions and the media in advance, the prevention passed without any interference to the power supply, despite the sharp statements and unfounded accusations by Albena AD.
Technical maintenance of electrical equipment is carried out on schedule and whenever it is necessary for their normal and trouble-free operation. When prevention is necessary, and it is not possible to cut off the power supply to consumers, the facilities are not turned off, in which the specialists of the distribution companies work under voltage. Only licensed power distribution companies have certified voltage-working teams and can carry out this type of high-tech repair work.
During the two days, the teams of ENERGO-PRO Networks partially replaced the equipment in the substations, inspected the transformers with a special infrared camera to detect electrical connections with increased contact resistances and carried out a number of other activities necessary for the trouble-free operation of the facilities.
As a result of the thunderstorm that broke out on Monday afternoon, the specialists of ENERGO-PRO Networks had to temporarily suspend the planned activities for safety reasons. On Tuesday, at 16.06 they finally finished their work.
The prevention carried out is the first of several similar ones, which are absolutely necessary and will be carried out on the distribution facilities on the territory of the resort. “Albena”.
As a responsible company, ENERGO-PRO Grids professionally fulfills its legal obligations for maintenance and operation of the electricity distribution network. The Company will continue to carry out maintenance and maintenance of facilities whenever and wherever necessary in support of the public interest and in compliance with its licensing obligations.
