A call for intervention in the resolution of the case was sent to the Principal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs

Plumbing companies continue to accumulate liabilities for hundreds of thousands of leva for consumed electricity and network services to ENERGO-PRO. Negotiations with state water utilities do not always lead to timely payment of bills and put ENERGO-PRO in a difficult position to repay current liabilities to other significant entities in the energy sector, such as ESO and NEC. At the same time, the company strictly adheres to its licensing obligations and follows its planned investment program to ensure quality electricity supply to customers.

The situation of a liquidity crisis in the energy sector and the need to limit the risk of accumulating even greater debts of water supply companies forces the energy company to launch a phased shutdown of electricity supply to plumbing buildings and facilities on schedule only and solely in order to limit the accumulation of debt. At present, one of them, the Danube Water Supply System, has unpaid bills for nearly eight hundred thousand leva. The measure in this case will enter into force on 04.01.2022, when the phasing out of administrative objects of the Razgrad water supply company, and subsequently objects with water supply pumps, will begin gradually. ENERGO-PRO takes into account the fact that water supply, like electricity supply, is a service of high public importance and takes a precautionary measure such as cutting off the power supply to unclean customers only as a last resort. The drawn up schedule of incipient exclusion is sent to the debtors' manuals and is applied only after all other options for action have been exhausted.

As ENERGO-PRO warned at the beginning of the month, a significant debt in the amount of nearly half a million leva has also accumulated by Vidin Plumbing, and payments on the obligations have not yet been received. Warning letters have also been sent to other water utilities with late payments. In the event of a full extension in the meantime, ENERGO-PRO will cancel the planned schedule for interruption of electricity supply to the water utilities.
