ENERGO-PRO discussed investments and preventive measures for emergency power supply with the regional governors of Shumen and Targovishte

The main theme of the series of meetings is the campaign to make proskis before the autumn-winter season
The management of ENERGO-PRO held working meetings with the regional governors of Shumen and Targovishte. During the talks, the investments made so far in the two regions, as well as the sustainable future development of the electricity distribution network, were presented.
The company focused on the progress of the campaign for cleaning and maintenance of the drafts under the overhead power lines, presenting information on the activities carried out so far and the specialized equipment used. ENERGO-PRO stressed that they already have modern machinery for maintenance of trenches, and the available resource of people and equipment allows to significantly accelerate the work on critical sections.
With the assistance of the Regional Forest Directorates in the districts of Shumen and Targovishte, the process of marking and removing vegetation near power lines, which creates prerequisites for accidents and risk of fires in adverse weather conditions, continues. To date, more than 49,000 trees have been marked on the licensed territory of “Elektrodistribuenie Sever”, posing a danger to the smooth operation of the electricity system.
The marking of dangerous trees outside easement was completed for Shumen district with a total of 10285 trees, and 1891 were marked for Targovishte district, leaving Antonovo municipality, where joint actions with the State Forestry (DGS) Omurtag are to be carried out next week. All dangerous trees outside the easements of the power lines should be removed from the respective forest farms (DGS Novi Pazar, DGS Palamara, DGS Shumen, DGS Veliki Preslav, DGS Varbitsa, DGS Smyadovo, DGS Popovo, DGS Targovishte and DGS Omurtag) after securing (if necessary) the relevant air power lines from the ERP North by the start of the winter season 2025-2026.
Within the framework of the meetings, the possibility of even more active cooperation between the company, the local government and forestry, including in emergency situations, was discussed. Special emphasis was placed on the need to update the legal framework related to easement zones in order to ensure the safety and reliability of electricity supply in forested areas.
In conclusion, the participants stated their readiness for constant control over the implementation of preventive measures, so that the residents of the Shumen and Targovishte districts can meet the upcoming autumn-winter season with a stable and secure electricity supply.
