The governors of ENERGO-PRO Varna Angel Angelov, Angela Toneva and Georgi Korshiya, and the Mayor of Shumen Lyubomir Hristov have agreed on the continuation of joint actions in infrastructure projects, as well as for easier access when connecting sites to the electricity distribution network. During a working meeting, the issue of accession deadlines in the context of the development of the industrial zone in the city and the increased investment interest was commented on. The managers of the electricity company explained that the procedure is legally regulated. Some of the timelines of the various stages of the project are set by other institutions, but the managers of ENERGO-PRO undertook to accelerate it within the powers of the network company and with the assistance of the local authority. The participants of the meeting agreed that the main priority is the economic development of the city and it is necessary to work with joint efforts for its realization.

The managers of ENERGO-PRO Varna informed Mr. Hristov about the investments made in the electricity distribution infrastructure in 2019, which for the Shumen region amounted to over BGN 4.3 million. The priority areas in the company's investment program this year are improving the operation of the electricity distribution network, increasing the quality of power supply, reducing technological costs and implementing energy-efficient projects.

The managers of ENERGO-PRO presented the changes in the work with business customers in 2020 and the upcoming change in the way of calculating the price for access to the electricity distribution network. It is expected that the new pricing method will be approved by the EWRC and will enter into force from the beginning of the new pricing period — July 1, 2020. After the change in the calculation method, the access price will depend on the requested power and not on the electricity consumed, which will lead to a fair distribution of the cost of access to the network among business users and will allow better planning of the development of the network according to the real needs of the business. The company is also committed to an additional clarifying campaign on the new pricing rules.
