ENERGO-PRO took urgent measures to improve the electricity supply in the municipality of Aksakovo

After a meeting with mayors and deputy mayors of settlements in the Municipality, the electricity distribution company did everything possible to eliminate the identified problems

On September 18, 2013, Mr. Stefan Abadzhiev, Manager of ENERGO-PRO Varna EOOD, met with mayors and deputy mayors in the municipality of Aksakovo. The occasion for the meeting was the concerns expressed by the representatives of the local authority in connection with short-term power outages in the area of part of the settlements in the municipality of Aksakovo.

Immediately after the meeting, the management of ENERGO-PRO decided to carry out a detailed analysis of the problem areas and, accordingly, to draw up a plan for taking all possible operational measures by the company to improve the situation, in line with the currently possible investment and exploitation activities.

During the days from September 18 so far, ENERGO-PRO Grids employees carried out extraordinary inspections of the two medium-voltage power lines “Krumovo” and “Novakovo”, which supply a large part of the settlements in the municipality of Aksakovo. The purpose of these inspections was to locate weak points on the power lines and to take immediate action to remedy the problems identified. After the conducted surveys, trees were found near overhead power lines, the branches of which can affect the quality of the supplied electricity, difficult-to-detect defects of insulators were found, etc. As a result of the inspection of the power lines, all urgent failures were immediately eliminated, and the remaining problems found are planned to be eliminated in case of planned power outages by the end of October. The inspections and analyses carried out by the company have shown that to date the problem of automatic repeated interruptions, the so-called short-term power outages, has been mastered and their number and duration are practically minimized.

“Within the framework of the measures taken, although with the last price decision the State Regulator minimized the funds available to our company for investments, the company's management decided to redirect funds from other foreseen urgent expenses to the urgent implementation of several targeted investment projects on the territory of the municipality of Aksakovo. Rehabilitation and reconstruction of the low-voltage power distribution network in the area of the village of Zornitsa will be carried out, with activities starting today — 03.10.2013. The reconstruction of the power grid will minimize the risk of destabilization of the voltage level in individual areas of the village,” Mr. Abadzhiev said.

A number of short-term measures were also taken in connection with the electricity supply of a large part of the settlements in the municipality of Aksakovo. Partial searches were made at critical points on the low-voltage network in the area of the villages of Lyuben Karavelovo, Zornitsa, Radevo, Botevo and Voditsa. As a result, it will be easier to service the facilities of the electricity distribution network and will limit the accidents caused by touching the power lines of the branches of nearby trees. In certain sections of the power distribution network, according to low-voltage signals submitted by the company's customers, analyzers were installed, which will show whether there are deviations in the voltage level in a particular section and, accordingly, will determine what measures need to be taken.

In addition to the inspections carried out on the two power lines owned by ENERGO-PRO, employees of the company carried out inspections and, where possible, inspections of all substations and facilities, owned by others. By the end of this week (until October 5), prescriptions will be served to their owners to eliminate the identified irregularities. In general, mainly at two of the substations owned by third parties, technical problems were detected, which lead to disturbances in the operation of the medium-voltage power lines “Krumovo” and “Novakovo”.

All mayors and deputy mayors who participated in the meeting held in September have already been officially notified of the short-term measures taken by ENERGO-PRO in response to their signals.

I believe that with a dialogue between them and representatives of our company, we will be able to identify emerging problems on the electricity distribution network in the area in a timely manner and take short-term measures to eliminate them, within the limits of the financial parameters imposed on us by the national regulatory framework. As you know, with the latest price decision, DKEVR limited to a minimum the funds that our electricity distribution company can have for investments. However, I can guarantee to the representatives of the local government in the municipality of Aksakovo and its residents that we will respond adequately to each of their signals, taking all possible measures”, concluded the manager of ENERGO-PRO.
