Inappropriate “Power Outage” joke misleads company customers

The ENERGO-PRO Customer Service Centers received complaints from victims describing a new way of fraud. The scheme is as follows: the client receives a call from a hidden number with a warning that his electricity meter is unplugged and he needs to pay some amount so that they do not cut off his electricity, finally the phone call ends with a sonorous laugh. ENERGO-PRO employees have determined that in this case it is about the use of a joking Google application.

ENERGO-PRO provides its customers with several ways to notify about power outages due to untimely payment of bills - by email, sms or mail. In cases where employees of the company contact customers by phone about overdue debts, they introduce themselves by name and position, advising them to pay their electricity bills at the officially announced places - at customer service centers, at partners' cash desks or by bank transfer.
