ENERGO-PRO warns of phone scam abusing company name

Alerts about abuse of the name of ENERGO-PRO through attempts of fraud of a new type have come to the company. The scheme is as follows: an alleged representative of the electricity distribution company ERP North, part of the ENERGO-PRO group, calls the victim and tells her that she has unpaid electricity bills. Next comes a threat that if he does not pay them in a timely manner, the client's lot will be closed. In this case, fraudsters take advantage of the fact that many people do not know their customer number, and give the victim another customer number, on which there really is an accumulated amount due. Thus, when a fraudster goes to the cashier of partners of the company to pay bills, in reality he covers the obligations of some debtor.
ENERGO-PRO points out that it never threatens its customers with the closure of an account in case of late payments. In order not to become a victim of such fraud, it is necessary for customers to check in advance and submit to the cashier a correct customer number and make sure that they pay the bill in the name of the respective holder and not another person. In case of suspicion of misuse of the company name, alerts can be submitted to the 24-hour telephone numbers 0700 800 61, 0700 161 61 and 0700 359 10, or directly to law enforcement agencies.
