ENERGO-PRO continues to install smart electricity meters
Specialists of ENERGO-PRO Networks installed electricity meters with remote reporting on hard-to-reach and remote business objects in Dryanovo. So-called “smart meters “on the one hand guarantee accuracy in meter reporting and control, and on the other - save time, money and manpower. In addition, the readings of the smart meters can be read 24 hours a day.
Most of the replaced electricity meters in the Dryanovo area are in guarded facilities, to which access is not provided during holidays and weekends. Another part of the replaced appliances are in a remote area 20 kilometers from the city and in winter access to them is difficult, and sometimes impossible.
The advantages of “smart” electricity meters are that they create convenience for customers — there is no obligation for property owners to provide access to the meter every month when the meter is located in a guarded facility. At the same time, the company's expenses for a monthly visit to the address by an accountant are reduced. Remote controls give a daily picture of the consumption and a clear energy balance of a building. This creates conditions for effective planning of consumption and optimization of electricity costs.
Unfortunately, “smart meters” are still too expensive products and their mass installation would entail significant initial costs. That is why in the fall of 2013 The State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation, after analyzing the alleged investment costs on a national scale and their possible impact on energy prices, decided not to accelerate the process of mass introduction of “smart” electricity meters in our country yet. Experts in the sector expect that in the next few years the prices of the components used in the production of “smart” meters will significantly decrease, which will make the technology of “smart” electricity meters much more affordable and preferred.
