ENERGO-PRO develops renewable energy projects and adapts the network to new market realities

At meetings with the local authorities in Ruse and Razgrad, the management of ENERGO-PRO discussed the direction of development of the company in the service of consumers. One of the main highlights of the visits was the growth of the renewable energy sector and related investments to adapt the network. ENERGO-PRO has a proven practice in supporting the use of energy from renewable energy sources. At present, the role of the energy company in this aspect is the investment in new facilities for connecting objects to the electricity distribution network. On this occasion, the mayors of the two regional cities discussed the accession procedures, which are directly related to the approvals and deadlines of the municipal administration.

Another main theme of the meetings was the increased settlement in suburban areas in the last one or two years, which leads to changes in the pattern of electricity consumption. These changes require time to readjust the network to the higher load. In individual cases, urgent investments are required, and the design and construction of a new network is a process that needs precise analysis and foresight of the future development of these areas. In this regard, the issue of the villa zone of the city was discussed with the mayor of Razgrad, Dencho Boyadzhiev, where in recent years there has been a significant settlement, construction of new buildings, massive villas, houses. The area is out of regulation, which hinders the ability of the electricity company to make investments for the reconstruction of existing facilities and the construction of new facilities. The moment was used to highlight the importance of active dialogue with local authorities for making the most effective decisions for the region concerned.

The managers of ENERGO-PRO informed the mayors about the planned investments in the two districts in 2022 — BGN 5.6 million in the Ruse region and BGN 2.9 million in the Razgrad region. Among the other topical topics of the meetings with the local government in the region was the increased number of services for consumers offered online through the ENERGO-PRO Virtual Customer Service Center at my.energo-pro.bg. The issue of the arrears of Danube Water Supply in the amount of nearly BGN 1 million was also touched upon, which makes it difficult to pay with energy suppliers, leads to liquidity problems and, as a consequence, affects the company's operational activity.
