ENERGO-PRO suspends the supply of electricity to Vidin Plumbing

A debt of BGN 515 thousand to ENERGO-PRO Energy Services, a large part of which has been in arrears since the beginning of the previous month, necessitates the suspension of electricity supply to Vidin Plumbing facilities. The final measure comes into force on 6 December 2021 and is necessary in order to limit the accumulation of additional liabilities that would cause serious operational difficulties for the company in the ENERGO-PRO group. The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, principal of Vidin Plumbing, was alerted to the critical situation.

The accumulation of liabilities in the plumbing sector occurs in a difficult situation in the electricity market and a liquidity crisis in the electricity distribution sector, as a result of the increase in the price of electricity on the energy exchange. ENERGO-PRO does not have the ability to credit arrears, especially in large amounts. In this connection, and in order to limit the accumulation of additional debt and in order to preserve the stability of the energy system, it is necessary to suspend the supply of electricity until the liabilities are repaid.

The energy company takes into account the fact that water supply is also a service of high public importance and undertakes to cut off the power supply to unclean customers only as a last resort. However, the accumulation of large liabilities put the company in a difficult position to repay current liabilities.

ENERGO-PRO works in the interest of both customers who pay their obligations on time and all participants in the electricity supply, transmission and distribution chain, which implies the timely and quality supply of electricity and, accordingly, trouble-free operation of the electricity system. Obligations of water supply companies lead to an increase in the financial burden on ENERGO-PRO. This indirectly harms ordinary payers, taking away financial resources for investments in the grid and putting the energy company in the role of a creditor to the plumbing companies. The announced measures are an expression of the desire of ENERGO-PRO to guarantee the security of the energy system and to protect the public interest with equal treatment of all customers.
