ENERGO-PRO advises business customers of DPI on quick choice of electricity supplier
More than 55% of ENERGO-PRO Sales's non-domestic customers are already supplied with electricity from a provider of last resort (LPI). The change is a consequence of a requirement in the Law on Amendment and Supplement to the Energy Act of 26.06.2020, according to which all non-domestic customers were to switch from 01.07.2021 to a supplier of electricity at freely negotiated prices. Customers who did not choose their supplier switched to DPI.
Meanwhile, from 01.08.2021 The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) has introduced a new Methodology for the determination of electricity prices of the supplier of last resort, which introduces a different way of pricing. According to the Methodology, the price of electricity per DPI is determined after the expiration of the calendar month and receipt of validated measured values from the electricity distribution network operator. The price is individual for each place of consumption according to its load profile. The cost of GDI for the calendar month for a customer's object is calculated on the basis of:
- the hourly electricity prices announced by the exchange operator in the “Day ahead” market segment with a calculation weight of 80%;
- the hourly balancing energy prices for shortage declared by ESO EAD with a weight in the calculation of 20%;
- site load profile provided by the network operator — measured hourly load profile for sites with hourly electricity metering, respectively calculated standardised load profile for sites without hourly metering, according to which the validated measured values for the calendar month are determined;
- a legally defined amount of mark-up.
Under the new pricing method, the price is not announced in advance, and the calculation and invoicing are made after the expiration of the consumption period. ENERGO-PRO Sales advises business customers to find a way to choose a supplier as quickly as possible, since the prices of DPI are higher than the prices on the free market of electricity.
ENERGO-PRO Sales reminds that, as before, the choice of a new electricity supplier can be made every month until the 10th, with the change coming into force from the first of the following month. Nearly 45% of the company's clients made their choice and concluded individual contracts within the statutory period.
ENERGO-PRO Sales AD is the holder of a license for the supply of electricity from a supplier of last resort, which covers the administrative districts with centers Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Targovishte and Shumen. DPI ensures the supply of electricity to customers on the free market who are left without a supplier for reasons beyond their control (their dealer has been revoked/removed from the market/declared bankrupt, etc.) or when the term of the customer's contract with his supplier has expired and no new supplier has been selected. For the delivery by a Supplier of Last Instance (LPI), a written contract is necessary.
