Prague-based international group ENERGO-PRO has acquired a third power distribution company in Georgia, consolidating its status as the country's largest energy company. ENERGO-PRO already serves more than 1.2 million customers on Georgian territory. “We have successfully completed the acquisition of Elektrodistribuenie Kaketi and now we supply electricity to more than 85% of the territory of Georgia,” said Pavel Vanya, Executive Director of ENERGO-PRO Group. Thus, the company's market share in the electricity distribution sector reached 64.6%. “In 2015, we conducted research and reported strong investor interest in our assets in Georgia. Given the changes in the legislation in the country and the fact that Georgia became a member of the Energy Community, we decided to continue our participation in the development of the Georgian electricity system, “added Pavel Vanya.

ENERGO-PRO has extensive experience in the modernization and maintenance of its assets in Georgia, where it continuously updates its electricity distribution network and generating facilities. The company plans large-scale investments in the network and infrastructure of Kaketi Elektrodistribuenie in order to improve the quality of electricity supply, reduce costs and establish the electricity distribution company as a respected provider of quality services.

Georgia, along with Bulgaria and Turkey, is among the key markets of ENERGO-PRO as an operator of hydroelectric installations. Ten years ago, the company purchased thermal power plants, as well as two electricity distribution companies in Georgia. The acquisition of Kaketi Elektrodistribuenie is another step in the development of the company and is indicative of the potential of the ENERGO-PRO Group as a strategic investor in international electricity projects in Europe and Asia.
