ENERGO-PRO restores power supply to Silistra district after excavator accident
The emergency teams of ENERGO-PRO Grids restored the power supply to more than 2400 households and companies in the area around the indoor pool and customs in Silistra after an unpleasant accident during excavation activities. At 11:01 a.m. on Wednesday, an excavator at a firm working on the city's water cycle disrupted a medium-voltage underground line connecting 17 substations to the city's Druster substation. The damage left more than 2,400 households and businesses in the area without electricity.
The specialists of ENERGO-PRO Networks made an organization and within 30 minutes restored the power supply to all customers of the company on backup connections. While emergency crews were preparing to turn on the backup power, other electricians secured the damaged line and began work on restoring the cables. Within a few hours, the accident was fixed, after which the normal power supply scheme in the neighborhood was also restored. The specialist teams of the electricity distribution company repaired three more underground cable lines in the city, which were also damaged as a result of excavation work.
This breakdown is a good example of the need to invest in the network and create backup connections between substations. If there was no backup line built in this case, people in the area would have stood without power for all the time needed to restore the torn cables. Thanks to this parallel connection, the electricity of all over 2,400 households and businesses was restored within 30 minutes.
Today, during excavation activities, the same cable was again damaged in another section. The ENERGO-PRO teams again reacted instantly to the emergency signal and restored the power supply to the affected customers on backup connections, after which they proceeded with the repair of the cable line. Damage to the electricity distribution infrastructure as a result of excavations caused serious material damage to the company and caused inconvenience to thousands of households and businesses.
Despite the severe financial restrictions imposed by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission on investment activity in the last two price periods, ENERGO-PRO Grids cannot stop investing funds in the maintenance and development of the electricity grid in order to ensure its stability.
