Once again, the theft of a wire from the power distribution network left people without electricity. Early this morning, the power distribution company ENERGO-PRO Grids registered the theft of more than 1000 meters of wires in the area of Byala, Varna region.

After the law enforcement agencies completed their work on the case, ENERGO-PRO immediately created an organization and began to restore the stolen wire. Teams of the power distribution company continue to work and install new twisted insulated wires.

In addition to the material damage that the company suffers, the theft of equipment also leads to the interruption of the power supply to customers for the time during which the network is restored. The facilities of the electricity distribution company often become the object of raids by increasingly resourceful thieves. The purchase of materials of unproven origin from non-ferrous metal points further stimulates criminal acts.

In 2014 alone, ENERGO-PRO Grids suffered material damage for more than 200 thousand leva from theft of facilities from the electricity distribution network. Among the stolen facilities there are also new ones that have been put into operation in recent years.

Attacks on the electricity distribution infrastructure pose a risk to the security, quality and continuity of the power supply, and lead to serious accidents and disruptions to the grid. In addition, vandal acts on the facilities can be dangerous to the life and health of people.
