ENERGO-PRO restored power supply to customers in Provadia villa area after another case of encroachment on the company's facilities
Another case of theft of parts of the power distribution infrastructure of ENERGO-PRO Grids left dozens of customers without electricity in a villa area Provadia. After an emergency alert was registered in the Call Center of the company from a client living in this area, a team was sent to the address. On the spot, the team found that the reason for the lack of power was a theft carried out at the substation from which the affected customers were powered. Unknown persons broke into the company's substation and stole the copper coils of the power transformer, as a result of which customers in the area were left without power.
ENERGO-PRO immediately set up an organization to replace the transformer machine and reduce the inconvenience for customers. Immediately after the replacement, the power supply in the area of the Provadia villa zone was restored. The amount of damage caused to the company and the additional funds for their recovery from this act of vandalism alone exceed BGN 8,000.
For the period 2013 — June 2014, 90 cases of encroachments on the facilities of the electricity distribution network in the territory of North-East Bulgaria were registered and the material damage that ENERGO-PRO suffered amounted to approximately 337 thousand BGN. Among the stolen facilities there are also new ones that have been put into operation over the past 2-3 years.
In addition to the material damage that the company suffers, the theft of equipment also leads to a prolonged interruption of the power supply to customers for the time during which the network is restored. In the past year alone, 58 disconnections of medium-voltage power lines were registered in the territory serviced by ENERGO-PRO Grids due to theft of wires or other equipment, part of the company's facilities.
