EPP invests BGN 400,000 in bird protection devices and spacers on air lines in Dobrich region

EPR North has completed projects for the installation of bird protection devices and securing of four overhead power lines (AVL) in Dobrichko — VELL Aleksandria, VEL Bulgarevo, VEL Kiselovo and VEL Zapad 1 in the area of the industrial zone of the city of Dobrich. The projects were implemented in the shortest possible time for power outages and the minimum number of affected customers by coordinating the work of the company's teams from several network areas. The total amount that ERP North invests in the installation of bird protection devices and spacers in the district in 2020 amounts to BGN 400,000.

The installation of bird protection devices in the last implemented projects started after the autumn migration, so that the birds are not disturbed during their stay in the country. Additionally, the work of the teams was aligned with the harvesting of the grain producers in the area. The activities for the installation of bird protection devices on the four overhead power lines were combined with the installation of spacers, replacement of insulators and carrying out screening of a total value of BGN 80,000. The rehabilitation is part of the preparation of the facilities on the EPR North network for work in winter conditions. At the same time, it ensures a reduction in the incidence of birds under voltage, and thus minimization of unwanted shutdowns and accidents, which in turn will ensure the necessary quality of the supplied electricity.
