ERP Sever and institutions continue joint activities to secure power lines in Veliko Tarnovo region.
Over the past 11 months, more than 17,500 hazardous trees near power lines have been marked in the Veliko Tarnovo region. During the same period, nearly 4,000 decares of land were cleared in the Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo regions as part of the joint activities between ERP Sever and the competent institutions for maintaining the electricity distribution network.
Since the beginning of the year, approximately 1,400 decares of land under and around power lines have been cleared in the Veliko Tarnovo region. With the assistance of the Regional Forestry Directorate, about 500 trees have been removed, while teams from ERP Sever's Regional Service Centers in Gorna Oryahovitsa and Gabrovo have removed an additional 1,300 trees posing a risk to the 20 kV overhead power lines.
These activities are part of the program for accident prevention and ensuring reliable electricity supply. For their implementation, the company uses its own specialized equipment, including a bulldozer and two mulchers. Machine clearing of rights-of-way is currently ongoing in the municipalities of Strazhitsa, Svishtov, Polski Trambesh, Pavlikeni, Elena, and Veliko Tarnovo.
In parallel, a repair program for waterproofing approximately 70 transformer substations is being implemented. The restoration of anti-corrosion coatings on lattice steel poles along the 20 kV network is also planned, as well as the replacement of sections of the low-voltage network.
Joint actions have also been taken to remove trees on an island in the Yantra River bed near Pervomaytsi village, over which three 20 kV power lines pass. To ensure access to the site, ERP Sever receives assistance from the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection," which provides a boat and divers.
The coordination between ERP Sever, the Regional Forestry Directorate, the regional administration, and other competent institutions contributes to the timely execution of maintenance activities for the critical electricity distribution infrastructure. Work on clearing rights-of-way and securing power lines continues with the aim of reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring a reliable electricity supply for residents and businesses in the region.
