ERP North invests 21 million leva in 2023 in the Varna district network

In 2023 Elektrodistribuenie Sever invested nearly 21 million leva in reconstructions and repairs of the network in Varna region. Among the most significant projects implemented in the maritime capital by the company's Varna Regional Center are the replacement of a 10 kV cable distribution system at Chaika substation worth 2.3 million leva, as well as medium voltage cable lines built in the city and reconstruction of a low-voltage network in the villa areas for 800 000 leva.
On the territory of Varna region, the electricity distribution network in the village of Kumanovo was renovated last year, the amount of the investment is BGN 350,000. A 0.4 kV cable line was built in a central urban part of Provadia for BGN 190,000. Reconstruction of the network for 460 000 leva was carried out in Grozdyovo, Izgrev, Razdelna, Partizani, Suvorovo, Neofit Rilski. In many other settlements of the district, rehabilitation was carried out in separate sections and elements of the power distribution facilities were replaced to improve their operation and prevent emergency situations.
In recent years, and especially as a result of the covid pandemic, there has been a growth in the inhabitants of settlements and holiday areas near Varna. EPR North recognized the need for larger extraordinary investments in these areas with increased consumption and implemented a number of projects worth millions of leva in many of them with the construction of a new and rehabilitation of an existing network. In some places, difficulties were encountered in the implementation of the planned activities due to unconducted regulation of the properties and the lack of infrastructure, which is entirely within the competence of the Municipalities. About the urgent need to solve these problems, the company informs the representatives of the local government in a timely manner. In order to maintain good quality of the electricity supply service, the governors set the topic for discussion at a meeting with the new mayor of Varna, Blagomir Kotsev, who undertook to start work on the problem of the missing detailed development plans (SPs) in the villa areas and suburban regions.
Every year, specialists of ERP North conduct a site survey and check the network facilities owned by the company, after which an expert team assesses their condition. Based on the expert assessment, the sites with an urgent need for inclusion in the investment and repair programs of the electricity distribution company are identified. The purpose of the realized investments in the network is to provide quality electricity supply to customers.
