ERP North invests BGN 3.2 million in the rehabilitation of Varna East substation

Within 2019 and 2020 ERP North carried out a large-scale rehabilitation of Varna East substation. The substation is key to the power supply of Varna, supplying electricity to more than 40,000 households in the city. In 2021, the delivery and installation of a new power transformer with a capacity of 50 MVA at Varna East substation is scheduled, bringing the total investment in the project to 3.2 million leva.
The rehabilitation activities of the substation facilities are part of the investment program of the electricity distribution company. They included a complete renovation of the 110kV open distribution system (ORU), construction of a new double rail system, together with the adjacent facilities and the steel galvanized gates. After the improvements made, the system is equipped with 8 completely new gas circuit breakers, 21 disconnectors, 12 voltage transformers and 18 current transformers.
The projects of ERP North, included in the company's investment program, are subject to careful expert analysis beforehand. The aim is to cover places with increased consumption and the need for modernization of facilities. With the implementation of the planned investment projects, the realization of the parallel repair program and the carrying out of urgent activities on the network, ERP North takes care to provide quality electricity supply to its customers.
