ERP North modernizes key power distribution facilities in Razgrad
Elektrodistribuenie Sever invested 85 thousand leva in the modernization of the equipment in the substations “Abritus” and “Tetovo”, and the node station “Razgrad” in the regional city. The upgraded facilities will increase the security and quality of power supply to nearly 32,000 households and businesses in Razgrad and nearby settlements.
At the Abritus substation, the replacement of a 110 kV circuit breaker of a power transformer with a new modern gas one was carried out. New relay protections and secondary switching of medium voltage terminals have been installed in Razgrad node station. At the Tetovo substation, a rectifier and a rechargeable battery were replaced. The installed modern equipment provides significantly higher sensitivity and speed and guarantees trouble-free operation of the facilities.
Substations and node stations are of strategic importance for the reliable operation of the electricity distribution network. Substations transform voltage from high to medium voltage. Node stations distribute electrical energy along power lines. Modern equipment allows transferring and redistributing electrical loads - when disconnecting one of the power lines, the others are used for alternative power supply, which prevents the inconvenience of customers from disconnecting.
Elektrodistribuenie North is part of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group. The company manages and maintains a power distribution network with a total length of 42,626 km. on an area of nearly 30,000 sq. km and covers 9 administrative districts in North-East Bulgaria - Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Targovishte and Shumen.
