ERP North has prepared the electricity distribution network on its territory for operation in winter conditions

Elektrodistribuenie Sever carried out the necessary technical and organizational measures and activities aimed at safe and trouble-free operation of the facilities in the autumn-winter period. The preparation of the network for operation in winter conditions included inspection and servicing of substations, rehabilitation of facilities, replacement of poles, insulators, laid cables, carried out sifting near overhead wires. The necessary operational and emergency reserve of basic types of materials and equipment is provided in the company's warehouses and in regional centers.
The investments made by ERP North this year until the end of August amounted to 28.5 million leva, which achieved a reduction in technological costs, improvement of the operation of the electricity distribution network, as well as an increase in the quality of electricity supply to the company's customers. For repair works during the same period, ERP North invested 4.4 million leva, which is done in order to provide safe and uninterrupted power supply, prevent future accidents and increase the level of safety at work.
Special attention is paid to buildings for social activities. The main switchboards of large hospitals are checked. Constant monitoring of consumption is carried out, especially in the hotels with seasonal occupancy in the districts of Varna and Dobrich, which will be in operation in winter, because some of them accommodate refugees.
For the elimination of accidents on the electricity distribution network, the electricity distribution company has 398 teams. Directly engaged in the elimination of accidents in non-working hours are employees on home duty. 61 duty teams are positioned in all district and municipal centers on the territory of the company. Thus, the response time in non-working hours, including on weekends and holidays, is reduced as much as possible. Another 56 employees of ERP North are available to locate and troubleshoot accidents at substations and interchange stations. In crisis situations, there is an opportunity to regroup and redirect technical teams and equipment to the affected areas.
In addition to the team vehicles with which the service network employees of ERP North are equipped, the company also has 422 off-road vehicles, as well as another 210 special vehicles and specialized equipment for responding to severe weather conditions.
Electricity Distribution North manages and maintains a power distribution network with a total length of 42,626 km on an area of 30,000 sq. km and covers 9 administrative districts in North-East Bulgaria — Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Targovishte and Shumen.
