EPR North increases security of electricity supply in Ruse region
As part of the seasonal maintenance of the network, the company completes the construction of props in the town of Marten and the village of Nikolovo
At the beginning of this week, the second stage of the construction of props on the overhead power lines supplying the city of Marten, Ruse region began. It is planned to clear tracks with a total length of 8 km by the end of August, with the invested funds amounting to BGN 10,000. The cleaning of branches from the power lines improves the quality of power supply to customers in the area and is a prerequisite for a smaller number of accidents during the winter months of the year.
As part of its investment program for 2018 Elektrodistribuenie Sever commissioned the construction of a node station “Iztok” with a total cost of BGN 390,000. The new facility is expected to enter into operation by the end of the year, which will allow to change the power supply scheme in the eastern part of the Ruse region. The change will ensure a higher level of security and quality of electricity supply to more than 50,000 households and enterprises in Marten, Sandrovo, Slivo Pole and part of the Eastern Industrial Zone of the city of Ruse. The connectivity of the node station will allow bypassing local power lines that are subject to constant raids by vandals and metal thieves, which damage facilities in the area and cause frequent disruptions to the power supply of local residents.
After completion of the work on the props in the town of Marten, the teams of the electricity distribution company will start work in the village of Nikolovo in the Ruse region. EPR North will invest BGN 35,000 in clearing branches along routes with a total length of 14 km near the overhead power grid supplying the village with electricity. Prosecting is one of the key activities of the electricity distribution company to prevent damage from summer storms to overhead wires during the summer season. The cleaning of the electricity distribution network in various settlements in the Ruse region will be carried out on schedule and will be associated with an interruption of the electricity supply, about which residents will be notified in advance through the company's website and through the local press.
